Early Detection is Key to Beating Lung Cancer

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month and brings awareness to the way we can strive to prevent cancer by early detection.


Each year >2,000,000 people worldwide are diagnosed with this most common forms of cancer. It is a common misconception that lung cancer is only a smokers’ disease. However, over half of those diagnosed are people who have never smoked or former smokers. This misconception has been linked to poor outcomes, due to delay in seeking a screening test or treatment.

In recent years, a test known as a low-dose CT scan (LDCT) has been studied and showed a significant improvement to detect cancer in the lungs even a tumor the size of a rice grain and saved more lives compared to chest X-rays.
