Initially he thought there was something wrong with his eyesight, but after thorough investigation, a tumor in his pituitary gland was discovered. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yot successfully performed a transsphenoidal hypophysectomy and removed the tumor, without leaving a visible scar. After the surgery, Matthijs was able to return to his normal life without any restrictions.
