In this video, Katrina shares her experience at Bumrungrad International Hospital. Initially she did not have any symptoms, but a blood test revealed a hormone imbalance. Subsequently an ultrasound discovered a substernal goiter, a growth of the thyroid gland from the neck into the chest area. This was posing the risk of compressing her trachea and esophagus. Dr. Vitchaphan, with his team of specialists, were able to successfully remove the thyroid gland and goiter, avoiding damage to her voice box and keeping her calcium serum levels at a normal range.
