Bumrungrad International to establish clinic and diagnostic center in Yangon

Yangon, 11 November 2015: Bumrungrad Hospital Public Co. Ltd, in a joint-venture with Yangon Medical Services has received approval from the Myanmar Investment Commission.

Registered as Bumrungrad Myanmar Co., Ltd, the new primary care and diagnostic center located in Yangon at Dagon Township will provide primary care and diagnostic services for patients resident in Myanmar, reducing their need to travel abroad. The clinic will be operated by Bumrungrad staff with the level of standards of Bumrungrad.

Bumrungrad International Hospital is Asia’s first JCI accredited hospital since 2002 and ranks amongst the world’s top-ten hospitals by numerous platforms dedicated to medical tourism and is sourced by the constant growing number of international patients. The Hospital treats over one million patients each year, including more than 520,000 patients from 190 countries, and Myanmar is the single largest international market.

The clinic is expected to launch by mid-year 2016.

Yangon International Medical Services, as Bumrungrad’s exclusive partner in Myanmar, currently operates 7 offices including Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Lashio, Mawlamyaing, Taunggyi and Bangkok.
