Osteoarthritis is a condition that involves the degeneration of weight-bearing joints, particularly the hips and knees. It is commonly found in individuals over the age of 45–60. Among Thai people, knee osteoarthritis is the most prevalent. The condition may begin with stiffness and difficulty standing up, eventually progressing to knee joint deformities such as bowlegs or knock-knees.
This disease can significantly affect daily life. Its progression may start with mild symptoms, such as stiffness, and escalate to severe pain that interferes with everyday activities. If left untreated, symptoms can worsen over time, leading to a decline in both quality of life and the ability to perform daily tasks.
