RSV A silent threat to older adults, but preventable through vaccination

While commonly associated with young children, RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) also poses a serious yet silent risk to older adults—particularly those over 75, or individuals aged 60–74 with chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or respiratory illnesses.

Complications such as pneumonia (78%) and heart failure (17%) are commonly seen in elderly RSV patients. Fortunately, this risk can be significantly reduced through vaccination.

The RSV vaccine helps lower the chance of infection, severe symptoms, long-term effects, and boosts immunity during peak season.

If you or your loved ones fall into a high-risk group, consult your doctor early—prevention is the best protection.
