Bumrungrad International Hospital has launched the “THE CALL: One Call Changes a Life” campaign under the concept, “There is one call that some patients wait a lifetime to receive.” The campaign portrays the life-changing moment when a patient awaiting an organ transplant receives a phone call informing them that a suitable organ has become available. It aims to raise awareness and promote a better understanding of organ donation, while encouraging the public to become the starting point in giving others a second chance at life by registering their intention to donate organs with the Thai Red Cross Organ Donation Centre. One organ donor can help save up to eight lives.
The campaign reflects Bumrungrad International Hospital’s role in supporting the mission of the Thai Red Cross Organ Donation Centre by promoting greater awareness and understanding of organ donation. It also emphasizes the importance of medical readiness when the opportunity for an organ transplant arises. The registration of organ donors and allocation of donated organs remain under the responsibility and management of the Thai Red Cross Organ Donation Centre.
The campaign launch was honored by the participation of Assoc. Prof. Supanit Nivatvongs, M.D., Director of the Thai Red Cross Organ Donation Centre, and Tatpong Chit-ua-aree, M.D., a specialist in Internal Medicine - Nephrology at Bumrungrad International Hospital. They were joined by Bumrungrad executives, led by Artirat Charukitpipat, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer; Assoc. Prof. Taveesin Tanprayoon, M.D., Chief Medical Officer; and Capt. Sukitti Panpunnung, M.D., R.T.N., Senior Associate Chief Medical Officer, for a commemorative photo marking the campaign launch.
