Urea Breath Test

Gastritis is now more common than you might think. H. pylori is a type of bacteria that can cause gastritis. The bacteria is widely found in Asia and contributes to 3% chance of stomach cancer. People of any age or gender are at risk of contracting H. pylori bacterial infections.
 
Now H.pylori can be inspected by carrying out a breath test if the bacteria is present within the patient’ s gastrointestinal system or not. The test will enable diagnosis of peptic ulcer disease and reduce risks of stomach cancer. Urea Breath Test is simple, convenient, fast and highly accurate.

Instruction for Health Screening Programs: Prepare for your visit

General Instructions

  • Do not eat or drink anything except plain water for at least 12 hours prior to check up. In case of Upper GI X-ray or andoscopy, please keep fasting.
  • Please bring along your ID card or passport and arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment time.
  • Stool and urine samples will be collected on the day of examination. Incase you prefer to collect the stool sample at home, please find instructions here.
  • If you have a pre-existing medical condtion, please bring any test results or reports you have for the doctor to review.
  • Please do not drink alcohol for at least 24 hours before beginning your program.
