Bumrungrad International is the world’s most popular medical travel destination outside the United States. We treat over 400,000 international patients each year, from 190 countries.

The majority of these individuals are self-paying. However, we have contracts with many insurers and employers. Most of these are local or multinational companies in Thailand or Southeast Asia. They work with us to provide care to their employees or travelers to the region, who suffer accidents or illness and are referred to our hospital for treatment.

Over the past few years, governments, insurers and employers have started working with us on new types of health plans. Rather than covering expatriates or tourists with urgent care needs, these plans offer coverage for people who want to travel to Bumrungrad for quality care at a lower price, without waiting. We call these plans “global benefit options.” They usually share savings and other benefits with the insured member who chooses the option to get healthcare at an approved international hospital.
