Rotavirus diarrhea

Department of Disease Control Reported case

on February 19, 2018 to February 25, 2018 ,from to the national disease surveillance system,

, the Department of Disease control has found 1,019,011 diarrhea with 4 deaths in 2017. Diarrhea were mostly found in employees(21.2%) and students(17.9%). There were 62 diarrhea outbreaks with 3,170 patients last year.

The main cause of diarrhea are viral and bacterial infections. Others are protozoa, helminths, toxins and drugs. Among the hospitalized diarrhea patients aged under five years, 40% were found to be infected with rotavirus followed by norovirus.

Let the people not panic that the original. Prevented by eat freshly cooked food and clean water , use serving spoon and wash hands after using toilet.

Rabies

Department of Livestock Development announces rabies epidemic. 38 provinces are classified as red areas. (In which the disease is found in people)

Bangkok, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Saraburi, Chachoengsao, Prachin Buri, Rayong, Samut Prakan, Nakhon Ratchasima, Yasothon, Sisaket, Surin, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Mukdahan, Udon Thani, Tak, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Samut Songkhram, Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Surat Thani, Songkhla, Satun, Ranong, Phichit, Samutsakhon, Chaiyaphum, Phetchaburi, Phayao, Nakhon Phanom, Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri and Pathum Thani.

Reported case From January 1, 2018 to Apr 10, 2018 : with 7 deaths.

Care when dogs are bitten or scratched.

1. Wash the wound with soap and clean water to wash the wound. Gently Apply Betanine after cleansing to reduce infection.

2. When bitten, keep the dog / cat scratched. To observe the symptoms of 10 days if the animals are dead, the livestock in the area. For the detection of rabies in animals.

3. Get medical attention immediately. For vaccination against rabies, if you have been vaccinated. Should go to every appointment. For maximum protection.

Pertussis

From the national disease surveillance system, since the beginning of this year, the DDC has found 12 pertussis patients with no death. One-fourth were Infants aged 1-3 months. The latest case was an infant aged 2 months from Nongbualamphu province.

During the past 8 years(2013-2017), pertussis incidence had shown an increasing trend with a range of 16 to 77 pertussis cases per year. The number of cases of this year is likely to be higher than the median of the past 5 years.
