Bumrungrad was the first hospital in Asia to be accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI), the international sector of the organization which reviews and accredits American hospitals. Their guidelines include over 350 standard indexes which require reaccreditation every three years. Bumrungrad was first accredited by the JCI in 2002 and has been reaccredited every applicable year since (2005, 2008, 2011, and 2014). Bumrungrad is also accredited by Thailand’s Hospital Accreditation (HA) program conducted by the Institute of Hospital Quality Improvement & Accreditation. Bumrungrad was the first hospital in the country to be accredited by this program in 1999 and has been reaccredited every applicable year (2002, 2005, 2009 and 2012).
