Pneumococcal Vaccination
Pneumococcal infection, namely Pneumococcus, is commonly found in children 5 years and under and adults 65 years and older. The infection found in a healthy adult is usually not severe. But for young children, elderly people, and people with weak immune systems, the virus may cause severe pneumonia, which could be fatal. Because of this, people over 65 are recommended to receive the pneumococcal vaccine.

People 65 and over (those who are younger than 65 and have a chronic condition must have a medical consultation before the vaccination)
Vaccination Schedule
- Two doses, one year apart
- If Prevnar is given first, an interval of 8 weeks is required before receiving Pneumo
- If Pneumo is given first, an interval of one year is required before receiving Prevnar.
Restrictions
It is recommended to receive the influenza vaccine 4 weeks after being vaccinated with Prevnar as the influenza vaccine may reduce the efficacy of Prevnar

- Vaccination will be administered by physicians or nurses working under Bumrungrad International Hospital only. Requests for self-administration or administration at other facilities are not allowed.
- History of food, drug and vaccine allergy will be taken before administration. If you have any contraindication to influenza vaccine, the administration will be omitted and you will fully reimburse.
- This package may not be used with corporate partner, insurance direct billing agreements, nor may not be combined with any other offers, discounts, corporate partner discounts, or promotions.
