Mr. Ahmed Naseem Ibrahim Didi, the father of the Vice President of Maldives, has been suffering from symptoms, such as tiredness, shortness of breath, and chest pain, which is caused primarily from a degenerative condition called aortic valve stenosis of the heart.
Dr. Wattanaphol, along with the multidisciplinary team of the cardiology department of Bumrungrad, gave Mr. Ibrahim Didi a newness of life through a breakthrough minimal invasive procedure called TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation)
. TAVI allows patient to have a new heart valve using the latest procedure which repairs the valve without removing the old, damaged valve. Instead, it wedges a replacement valve into the aortic valve's place.
