Bumrungrad celebrates 33rd anniversary with community health care


      Bumrungrad International organized an event with medical services to the community to mark its 33rd anniversary, dedicated to His Majesty the King’s birthday on 5 December. Executives of Bumrungrad along with doctors, nurses and staff acted as volunteers at the Nikhom Makkasan community in Ratchathewi district, where they provided influenza vaccines for children and teachers at Nikhom Makkasan Community Child Development Center. The event included lunch and games, and the community also received know-how about waste separation using dedicated garbage cans. The volunteer team also gave simple health advice, blood pressure checks, and basic medicines to every family in the community.

CSR Award of Excellence for Bumrungrad


      Mr. Mack Banner, CEO of Bumrungrad Hospital, received the Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Recognition Award 2013 presented to Bumrungrad by the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in Thailand in recognition of the hospital’s dedication to CSR programs such as heart surgery services for underprivileged children. The award honors companies whose sustainable business practices make a positive contribution to the community. Presenting the award were H.E. Kristie Kenney, the U.S. Ambassador to Thailand (left) and Mr. Darren Buckley, Vice President of AMCHAM in Thailand (right).

Bumrungrad opens Cardiac

Electrophysiology Laboratory (EP Lab)

Dr. Num Tanthuwanit, an Executive Director and Medical Director of Bumrungrad International Hospital, announced the inauguration of the Electrophysiology Laboratory (EP Lab). EP Lab is one of the most advanced medical sciences facilities for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias in Southeast Asia. In addition, several electrophysiology medical professionals join Bumrungrad International hospital.

      The Rak Jai Thai or “Healing Hearts” program was created in 2003 by Bumrungrad International and Bumrungrad Hospital Foundation, in conjunction with the Cardiac Children Foundation of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra to help needy Thai children suffering from congenital heart defects and valvular heart disease, and who lack access to much-needed surgical treatment. Through the Rak Jai Thai program, the children can have free surgery or treatment. Since the program’s inception and up to September 2014, Rak Jai Thai has provided surgery to 710 patients. Currently, the average cost of surgery per case is about 550,000 baht.
