Currently, eight personnel work in the Medical Education Center (Figure 1)





Associate Medical Director and Director of Medical Education Center
Responsible for the effective reinforcement of policies from the Medical Director, Senior Associate Medical Director, and oversees the Medical Education Center.

2. Department Manager, Medical Affairs
Responsible for the general care and development of Center personnel operations and services provided for medical and dental staff, and upholds the policies of the Center Director and the Medical Executives.
3. Manager, Medical Education Center
Responsible for the management, performance, and efficiency of the Medical Center and its personnel.
4. Senior Postgraduate Medical Education (PME) Officer Responsible for general facilitation to medical and dental staff, residents, and fellows who receive training at BI, students, and visitors.
5. Senior Continuing Medical Education (CME) Officer
Responsible for organizing the content and quality of compulsory annual meetings and CME both in and outside BI for medical and dental staff, and other medical personnel.
6. Continuing Medical Education (CME) Officer
Assists the Senior CME Officer in conducting mandatory conferences, workshops and recording CME credits for BI medical & dental staff.
7. Librarian
Responsible for providing the library’s medical journals and related information upon request for medical and dental staff, and other medical personnel.
8. Library Officer
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the library to maintain orderly storage of books and journals.
  The normal working hours of CME staff are 8.00 am to 5.30 pm Monday-Thursday, and 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Friday.
  Academic activities provided by the MEC in 2012 included conferences, interesting case discussions, departmental meetings, special lectures, grand rounds, mandatory courses, academic meetings, and training workshops. The activities covered 15,035 attendees, of whom 14,779 were BI medical, dental, and other staff; and 256 non-BI personnel (Table 1).
  Six annual meetings have been arranged by the MEC during 2012 (Table 2).
  Sixty-eight (68) topics extracted from the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), and printed in the monthly booklet “BI Medical Newsletter”, are listed in Table 3
  In 2012, 1,032 lectures were given by our 323 medical & dental staff, comprising 636 topics within BI, and 396 off-campus.
  Between 2009 and 2011, we have trained three orthopaedic spine-surgery fellows. Between 2009 and 2012, three orthopaedics sports-medicine fellows have been trained and one is continuing training in 2013.
