This is a standard outpatient Phaco with IOL package for one eye.
The package includes:
- Charges for operating room use and nursing services (for scrub nurse and circulating nurse)
- Medical equipment: phaco aspirator, specialized surgical instruments for the eye
- Medical supplies necessary for phaco aspiration with IOL procedure
- Medications necessary for phaco aspiration with IOL procedure, local anesthetic drugs, eye medications (one bottle of Viscoat)
- Intra-ocular lens: flexible lens/hard lens
- Surgeon’s fees
Note: No additional doctor’s fees will be charged in the case of postoperative complications.
The package excludes:
- Pre-operative testing including laboratory tests, pathology, and radiology studies, etc.
- Other charges not related to the procedures
- Charges for eye exam and outpatient charges incurred prior to the surgery
- Additional bottles of Viscoat
- Take home medications and supplies
- Charges for inpatient stays
Patient eligibility:
Patients with the following conditions are considered to be complex or high risk cases and will not qualify for the package:
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- Uncontrolled glaucoma
- Patients with underlying diseases such as uncontrolled diabetes, hypertension, renal/vital organ failure, HIV infection, or patients undergoing immunosuppressive treatment
