WARMING UP: A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

Most golfing injuries could be prevented if players took adequate time to warm up and stretch before playing. Warm up is especially important if you are new to the sport or haven't been physically active.

Before you play, allow 20-30 minutes for a proper warm up. You will feel better, score higher and feel fewer aches and pains after the round.

Here is a 6-step warm-up that will get you ready to play:

1. Stretching exercise for arms, shoulders, and upper back

2. Warm up for back, abdominal, upper body muscles; waist

3. Strengthening exercise for arms, spine and body

4. Warm up for ligaments and tendons in wrists and arms

5. Stretching exercise for leg and thigh muscles

6. Stretching exercise for elbow muscle
