| Getting a taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport |
If you'd like to make your own way here, getting a taxi from the airport is your best option. There is taxi service located at the ground level of the Main Terminal Building. Normally, the queue is long but fast moving. Just tell the person at the Taxi Desk "Bumrungrad Hospital" - we are very well known in Bangkok.
All drivers should do this, but make sure that the taxi meter is switched on. The fare automatically starts at 35 baht.
There is an additional 50 baht surcharge for getting a taxi from the airport (payable to the driver at the end of the journey). We recommend that you take the "highway" – an elevated freeway that runs right into the heart of Bangkok, very close to Bumrungrad International. The highway costs between 40 and 80 baht depending on the route your driver chooses. (Generally 25 baht plus 40 baht at two separate toll plazas.)
The journey should cost between 200 - 300 baht, not including airport surcharge or highway tolls.
If you get a taxi from the airport or anywhere around Bangkok, it is best to make sure you that you have enough 100 baht notes to pay for the trip as taxi drivers often don’t carry a lot of change.
Tips are accepted gratefully by taxi drivers. For a journey from the airport to Bumrungrad, 20 baht is a good tip.
